Kishwaukee Hospital Offers Cardiac Health Support

Kishwaukee Hospital provides programs and services seniors may utilize to promote heart health. From preventive services such as blood pressure monitoring to educational programs led by medical staff, Kishwaukee Hospital is committed to empowering seniors in their healthful cardiac pursuits. All programs held at Kishwaukee Hospital Roberts Conference Center unless otherwise noted.
Blood Pressure Clinic. Every Monday this month at 10 a.m. This clinic is for people who are interested in tracking their blood pressure. A Kishwaukee Hospital community health professional monitors your blood pressure. Participants receive information on blood pressure and tracking card.
Heartwise Cardiac Health Evaluations. By appointment only. A Heartwise Cardiac Health Evaluation consists of non-invasive tests and screening to evaluate risk factors for heart disease including a state of the art CT heart scan, a blood draw for cholesterol and blood sugar levels, blood pressure, BMI and body fat analysis, computerized health risk assessment, and a personal consultation with a registered nurse to identify and understand your cardiac risk factors. This program is for those who wish to have a greater awareness of their cardiac health and personalized assistance. Call 815-748-2975 to schedule an appointment. This program has a fee of $99 and may not be covered by insurance.
Sudden Cardiac Death Amongst Women with Dr. Nguyen. Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m. This program is of specific interest to senior women. Cardiologist Paul Nguyen M.D., M.S., will facilitate an informative discussion of Sudden Cardiac Death including risk factors, symptoms, prevention, and treatment. A heart healthy meal will be provided. Registration is required and will close three days prior to the class. Class size is limited.
Know Your Numbers. Mar. 5 at 9:00 a.m. This program is suited for those interested in gaining information on decreasing personal risk factors for heart disease. Know Your Numbers will include free screenings for cholesterol and blood sugar levels, blood pressure, BMI, and waist measurement. A group presentation will assist participants to learn and interpret their test result numbers. Heart healthy snacks and drinks will be provided. Call 815-748-8962 to register.
